I May Never
by Darrin Stephen
I may never be able to buy you diamonds that shine in white gold
I may never be able to see you in a long white gown
I have seen many beautiful things in this life
You know you may never be my wife
Life as we know it has been upside down and a little wild
It all goes away when you talk to me with your eyes so mild
They don’t want to understand us they think I am going to hurt you
I have listened to them for way too long there is only one thing I know to be true
My heart can’t see what tomorrow will be, my soul just longs to be still
My love for you grows a little more each day like the rolling hills
That time down in Turner Valley where I just held you as you slept
The secrets I have shared with and you the times we both have wept
You know I am a jealous man, and I know you love me
You gave me your heart and one way or another you set me free
To love you deeper than I could ever believe
To be stronger than I thought I could ever be
I watched the Northern Lights dance across the sky
I watched a sunset in Hawaii slowly die
Walked along the beaches of Mexico
In your eyes there is light I can’t let go
I can make you smile in a way no one else can see
You hold me and the dark skies illuminate around me
I can hear you breathing as we sleep, like a lullaby from years past
I may never do a lot of things but loving you will always last
