A trip to the Grimsby
by Scott Summers
I'm feeling all warm inside,
because a smile lights your face,
As I pay for a two litre Fanta,
and ask for a battered plaice,
The beauty of your eyes,
brings a silence to my lips,
As you get a carton of peas,
and a small portion of chips,
But I will forever refrain,
from revealing how I feel,
As we depart with a bag,
stuffed with a greasy meal,
I just wish I could tell you,
how gorgeous I think you are,
As we pop into the Total,
for some bread and a Snickers bar,
I want to let you know that you are always,
on my mind,
As I wait for a clean fork,
that we're unable to find,
We'll chat through the food,
but of my love I'll never speak,
So I guess I'll have to look forward,
to the same time next week,
And maybe I'll have a little bit more courage,
to say what I have to,
The next time I take a trip,
to the Grimsby with you.
