A SILENT AFFAIR

A Silent Affair
by Marsha Shane
Your lips I may never know
or the truth of your kiss,
as it speaks tenderly to my heart.
Yet, I've heard you clearly
when you caressed me with your eyes,
piercing my soul with honest fingertips;
holding me within blue sights
bold as the limitless skies;
brazen with need, but
passionate with love forbidden
for the fruit of another's garden.
True love beckons with a velvet hand,
tempting with silken tones,
breaching our defenses, complete
with unspoken promises and
silent questions;
Leaving unconsummated answers
too late.
But if it's any consolation,
I love you too.
