Poetry: Secret Love
The Lie
by Steve

How glorious this sunrise
In pink and orange hues
Splashed across the eastern skies
In a pool of hazy blues

Fingers stretch from east to west
As rays are breaking thru
The clouds give way as if to say
This day was meant for you

So sacred seems this new day
A gift to be enjoyed
Anothed chance to cherish things
I once had wished destroyed
How fortunate am I now
To be here on this day
Witnessing this splendor
While wishing it away

So calm this air around me
So strong the peace inside
Can all of this that surrounds me
Be nothing but a lie?
