When I looked upon your smile,
It washed over me like an ocean.
I floated along, carried by its waves,
The sea's salty air settling about me
In a comforting embrace.
Sunlight streaming down from above
Caressed me with its warmth,
Its radiance stinging my eyes
As they welled up with tears of wonder and joy
Commingling in a medley of unbridled emotion.
There, rocking in the crests and troughs,
I felt contentment and peace,
The rhythms of your fresh laughter
Assuaging the aches within my heart.
When I looked into your eyes,
I saw that shade of deep blue
You only see in a clear night sky.
The whirling breezes of the cool night air
Flowed around me as I stood alone,
My eyes lifted up in a gaze
Aimed high up into the heavens
Where the stars shined down upon me,
Their tiny lights faint beacons of promise and hope.
There high up in the heavens
Were where my dreams lived,
Their dance pulling my heart higher and higher
Until I could no longer endure the lightness
And I became dizzy from the ascension.
