This beautiful gift that has been given to me
Do I leave it alone.....for my eyes never to see?
Dare I unwrap the box and open it up
Let its' goodness and love fill up my cup?

Should I leave it wrapped nicely in its' ribbons and bows
Put it up on the shelf...its' beauty never to hold?
Or should I take it down and take off the ribbon
Carefully remove the wrapping.....
and its' love I will be given?

Oh....the anticipation of waiting and not knowing
The thought of the goodness inside that is not showing
To leave it alone would be an unfortunate thing
Never that soul to share with my being

I know that this is not the way it should be
But please take this part of my heart and the key
I give it to you please handle it with care
Place it next to your heart...
And with another.....never to share.
