Poetry: Life Long Love
Beside The Mission Bells
by Darryn John Murphy

Fire this poison arrow into thy heart
I feel no fear even though it’s sharp
For I was young and yet it seems
My time is near
I feel no lust nor experience fear

Beside The Mission Bells
This is not the place that we call hell

Tranquillity blends where thy flow bone mends
For now I wait with open hands
For in this time my final hour
Beneath the shadow of this tower

My lover’s hand shall not be seen
Oh how I wish this were a dream
In this silence I will not scream
For now I long to see her face
Before my soul departs this place

For here I rest forever more
Upon this, my resting place by the shore
Beside the sounds of the mission bells
With this last breath, goodbye cruel world
