Poetry: Life Long Love
In her eyes
by Shweta Domingo

As a child I could see
In her eyes, only misery.
Did not know how and why
All her tears I tried to dry
Never did she ever complain
About her sorrow, about her pain
Deep within she held her sorrow
Her world inside empty and hollow
Love was all that she ever gave
Showing us all that she was brave
Hiding all the thorns that pierced,
Her sweet life all these years.

Till this very day she has hope
Life will change that she will cope
But the courage that she shows
With every passing day that grows
That is what she has been to me
The only ship that sails in the stormy sea
Facing all that stands in her way
Only to be stronger the next day
That is what she chose her life to be
Without fear she will seek victory
She is my pillar of strength, my mentor
The one who gave me life……My Mother.
