Poetry: Life Long Love
I'll Come Back For You
by Jody Galindo

Tears run down your face and chin.
You smile at me...what fun you have been.
But now I'm off to college--
Don't cry, please...I'll gain more knowledge.
What a friend you have been...
You changed me; I'm clean from sin.
You sowed my heart from spilling;
And now you have completed my healing.

It's time for me to grow up into a man...
A man that will love you--he knows he can.
You got a ways to go still;
I climb myself up and over the hill.
Surely I will not forget about you.
I know I love you, and it's so true.
My hardest part is letting you go.
It will only be for a while--you know?

What a beautiful woman you will be;
I'm anxious to come back just to see.
Just hold on for four years more...
Without your aura of love, my heart will be sore.
It will be tough, but I must live life.
My heart feels it has been stabbed with a knife.
I admit, I need to go through...
But I know this--I'll come back for you.
