Poetry: Life Long Love
Long Distance Love
by Bill Hassell

Your heart leaps, as the phone rings.

You hear his voice, and your soul sings.

The day that was bad has suddenly gotten better.

You can feel the emotion coming over the phone, but you don't have the memento of a letter.

It's hard to be in love with one who's far away from you.

Is he thinking about your day? missing you?

Time will tell as it always does

It has seen come and go so many loves.

With hope and luck, this might be the one.

Your stars, your moon, your sun.

A celestial being to finally make you smile.

Then you realize before it's all been said.

Those voices are mumbling in your head.

It's not right, it's too good to be true.

Well they really don't know, 'cause they aren't you!
