My first year with you

As i walked by some shops today,
something caught my eye, made me look that way
gifts and cards for the ones you love
said a sign on the wall above
and i knew this midnight one year ago
marks the first year anniversary of when I confessed I loved you so
the day i said with a very little voice
I'm waiting for you, I've made my choice
one year since I had made my boldest move
one year of sincere and deep true love
and a year ago I wouldn't have thought of getting a card
back then I wouldn't have guessed how this poem would start
one year is all it took for this little girl
to change the colors of my world
it was black and blue and greyish then
now it's blue sea's, white mountains and your beautiful brown tan
if a year did this what would a lifetime do
I know without a guess, I'll still be loving you
