My Shooting Star

People wish on many things,
to bring them what they desire,
but wishing on a star that flings,
across the open sky much higher,
than any one can reach alone,
is what I do most nights,
I do not wish for gold or stones,
I wish for the shooting start's light,
to shine on you, so I can see,
your loving, handsome face,
the face that is so special to me,
the face that yields God's grace,
and so my wish will always be,
for you, my shooting star, to come to me.
