HOLDING ON
by Chris Barr
Thinking back on the way you made me feel
I never knew our love was so real
I couldn't believe I had fallen in love
With a girl who never asked for too much
I don't remember all of our fights
They were usually about who's wrong or who's right
I knew that you would always win
So to keep you happy I would give in
Not because I was right and you was wrong
But because my love for you was so strong
I knew I had to hold on to you
What ever I needed you would come through
I knew I had to hold on to your
When you stayed with me even though I was untrue
Your beauty takes my breath away
It makes me wonder why you chose to stay
I find new reasons to love you as time goes by
You encourage me to do the things that I don"t want to try
You are my up when I am down
You never embarass me when other people are around
Even though I still make mistakes
You tell me we will make it no matter what it takes
I knew I had to hold on to you
You make my life feel brand new
I knew I had to hold on to you
Loving me wasn't something you had to do
We have seen many Summers, Springs, Winters, and Falls
Good times and bad times you have stayed through them all
It still breaks my heart to see you cry
I just thank God you never gave up and just said goodbye
I never would have thought we would have made it this far
You would say don't give up, just follow my heart
You are my angel that came from above
My life has been blessed because of your love
I knew I had to hold on to you
I couldn't wait to hear you say I do
I knew I had to hold on to you
Years went by and our love only grew
I hate to see you crying because of my pain
I would love to see your beautiful smile again
Letting you go is the hardest thing I have ever had to do
When I have spent most of my life trying to hold on to you
I have to be able to tell you I love you once more
So I put your hand on my heart so you would know it was yours
Please don't cry our love will always be
When it's your turn, Finally, you can let go and hold on to me
