Poetry: Life Long Love
Everlasting Love
by Angie

When we first met
How could I know?
That you'd be the first to show
How strong attraction could be

You chased me down
But, I didn't see
How interested you were in me

When I finally gave in
I knew it was for real
That something so simple
Could make me feel
So good inside
You revealed what I tried to hide

You gave me your all
And I took what you had
Never realizing in the end
I would feel so bad

That was many years ago
Almost too many to count
I still feel regret
When I think about
How we used to be

I've gone on with my life, obviously
Still regretting each day
That I let you go
But, now I feel
There's something you should know

No one can ever replace
The love I feel for you
Nobody can ever fill that space
Only you
