Straight From The Heart
As I think back on her life,
I think about the joy and strife.
But there was one person, who helped her through so much,
He provided a shoulder to cry on and the warmest touch.
They could talk together, forever about anything at all,
And he’d always be there to pick her up whenever she would fall.
They were friends to the end; they’d never split apart,
Until one day when she decided to listen to her heart.
They thought about going out and it was finally agreed,
That they’d now be a couple and all each other would need.
The opinion they had on liking each other grew to be a fact,
But the liking turned to love and she didn’t know how to act.
She felt so scared and worried that he’d steal her heart away,
And only come back when he felt like it or just to have a game to play.
Their talks began to lessen the pain began to rise,
Their lives were filled with heart-ache and extremely sad good-byes.
Eventually she had fallen for good and he couldn’t pick her up anymore,
So they agreed it would be ended and he headed for the door.
Now it’s been quite a while since they gave it another shot,
But the memories will always fill her head and the love will never be forgot.
She’ll always toss and turn at night, and in the morning-cry,
Because no matter what, she’ll never feel that way with any other guy.
She’ll never forget the butterflies in her stomach or how she felt weak in the knees,
But since he’s not around that much all she has are memories.
The walks they had together the late night talks on the phone,
Her happiness when they were together and her fear now that she's alone.
She keeps on hoping for him and prays everyday to God above,
But she continually ends up: waiting in vain for his love.
So now you know her story and if it seems like I told it so well I could play the part,
It’s because that girl is me and that boy will always have a special place in my heart.
