Tides
by Luke Edwards
The sun was leaving the sky for the evening.
The tides had grown form shy ripples,
barely vanishing an infant’s first steps along the sodden shore
to raging 7-foot monsters that devastated all and even eradicated tough palm trees who’s seeds were laid many decades ago.
The light kept falling but the monsters’ anger grew until both reached their peaks –
complete darkness filled the skies and everything until the nearest beach resort was drenched.
The sand lay jagged and helpless to obtain its natural appearance.
The moon,
leader of the waves,
rose and ruled the coasts.
Light soon came to overrule the darkness….
The last beast rose but was shattered against the sharpened rocks beneath it.....
