Mother's
by Bob Gibbs
Some live on a farm
As tillers of the soil.
Some become a policeman
And protect us from turmoil.
Some become a teacher
Preparing us for the future.
Some become a doctor
Fixing wounds with a suture.
Some become a handyman
Repairing everything broken.
Some become a diplomat
Watching each word spoken.
Some become a maid
Helping to keep things tidy.
Some become a preacher
Helping us praise the Almighty.
Some become a nurse
Caring for the acute.
Some become a judge
Settling every life dispute.
Some become a cook
Feeding all at the table.
Some become a communicator
Messaging via internet cable.
Some become a mother
Doing all of the above
While also filling our life
With her perpetual love.
