HIM I LOVE
Jessica Edith Koomson
I do not know how you do what
you do- but I’m a great deal in
love with you:
The smell of your skin,
the taste of your kiss,
the feel of your touch
and the very things you do
sweeps me off my feet-
Oh! You surround me so sweat;
can you stay a minute more,
for I’d love to have you all of my
days on this planet-
Your breath that speaks life into
my lung-
I could never have enough of you:
how beit you touch me so well-
I’d hate to think of morrow
when you will not be
Take my hand and make me yours
and let tomorrow wait-
for I’d die to think you gone-
how beit you belong elsewhere;
when you I have searched all my
days-
Can I leave the nest for another?
Oh! No! how time sweeps away-
I could kill for my taking-
So long from this minute I’d say-
hoping beyond bounds that your
memory in me will take me another
day and the next
