My whole life lasted two short weeks,
When I was super-human,
Feeling and touching everything,
Tasting you with all my senses.
Oh sure, I was with you before,
And I was with you afterwards,
But it wasn't quite the same
As those weeks were.
Now so long has drifted by,
So much time without your eyes
Reflecting my own
Adoration for you...
I think I could still get out the old cape though,
Dust it off, wear it proudly,
Fly again,
Faster than the speeding bullet
You killed me with.
