Poetry: Special Days
For Mothers
by Ron D

Who raised all these miraculous ones?
The things you planned for us no one can describe.
The people you live among will see how awesome is the work.
Those living far away experience your touch.
Where morning dawns and evening fades you call forth songs of joy in praise
Mothers will do wonders never before done in any nation in all the world.
The heavens celebrate you, your faithfulness too.

All this, said and stored.
I still remember posing, hopping for more.
Brought from the store that new trinket.
The shudder you sustained, mom, its just my cricket
My simple questions, you chuckled with delight.
When the sun didn’t shine, you made it all right.
You saw me to bed, even served the med.
Where you there all night at the foot of the bed?
I’ve been uptight and made a mess.
Sorry mom, you cleaned it up yourself. I guess.
You saw through my masquerade and knew what I hoped to be.
How you recognized this will always be amazement to me.
As I ride this train gladly.
I’m going back to the family.
Hassles all are around me,
Mom, you showed me strength through family.
