It's good to be back once again O how I've missed
this old country home, it's been such a long time.
How have you been after all these years?
I see that your still hidden far in the woods in
a place that cannot be found.
I see that time has been a friend to you in these
last few years of my life and today you still
stand with a strength and boldness about you.

Surrounding yourself with the sun and thick
green grass, trees that still rustle their leaves
in the gentle breeze.
In their brightest of colors, flowers continue to display with an aroma that only memories can
remember.

A small babbling brook running through the
meadow continues to edge out a path with
strength and gentleness as it passes through
sand and pebbles.
Setting on the edge I take off my shoes
placing my feet in the cool calming flow,
as it gently splashes my ankels.

Lying next to the babbling brook with my
hands underneath my head I look into the
deep blue sky, off in the distance young
baby birds cry out for their parents.

Feeling the thick green grass against my
back the sun warms my body like a blanket,
closing my eyes for just a moment drifting
into a peaceful sleep where time becomes
lost.

Dreaming of the days when I where young
in this old home with brothers and sisters
running through the meadow playing our
favorite games while mom is in the kitchen
baking up her favorite pies. dad sitting on
the front porch rocking in his favorite rocker
with a cold glass of lemonade listening to the
songs that both mom and dad use to dance
too.

Years have passed and my time has come
to say my final good-bye's for this was a
memory only I can relive once again
somewhere in time
