at the end of the day
by lewis smith
At the end of the day when you finely get home
Barely getting your shoes off when there goes the phone
You look at your watch to check the time
Now you know who is on the line
When you pick up the phone and hear that jolly voice say
Hey little buddy it's about time you got home
Laughing he would say hope you have had a good day
We had a lot of good times and some were bad
Like the long stays in the hospital he sometimes would have
But we made the best out of every day
Because we would not have it any other way
Missing him deeply hoping to see him again
Knowing he's with the lord now no more sickness and pain
Now hearing that phone ring at that time of night
Emotions erupt that are too strong to fight
Knowing its not my best friends voice saying
Call me if you need me love you and have a good night
