A Walk on the Beach
by shirL
Slowly you take my hand
We walk along the beach
The waves lap calmly
The sea giants breech
Wind blows back my hair
I turn to look in your eyes
You pull me closer
To tell me you've got a surprise
You tug my hand to walk faster
We start to run
I remember the colors that flashed by
From the sapphire ocean to the setting sun
The green of the palms
The blue of the skies
But none of these colors could compare
With the ebony of your eyes
Suddenly we stop
The sky is dim
The stars etch a white shadow
Splattered all over, outlining the planet's rim
Before me stands a candle-lit dinner
You pull the chair back for me to sit
Tears of joy run down my face
Your love is more than I'd imagined it
You brush my tears away
And pull me into your arms
There I lie all night
There I'll be safe from harm
You make me feel like Juliet
I thank you for this
As the sun begins to rise
You start and complete my day with a fairytale kiss.
