'We're Not So Different, the 3 of Us'
by Dianne C. Langley
Dear Daughter,
Looking at you, I see myself; only it must be as my mother saw me a few years ago..
When I tell you how things, or people you meet, "Make it My Business"..later I stop and realize why my mother felt the happiness or hurt that I felt.
As they say, "the older you get, the younger I'll seem". I guess when you reach that age, that's when we first look at each other as human-beings, with a lot in common; rather than "Parent-Child".
A Parent feels a lot of responsibility, and a Child feels a lot of demands.
A Parent feels the need to set the rules and the example, and a Child feels a lot of 'have-to's'.
Blessed is the day we can look at one another as individuals and just be ourselves.
Friends that cry together, as well as laugh together.
Honestly, Openly and Unashamed;
knowing that we'll always be together, with a love no mistake or error can shatter.
Our binding Faith in God, as well as each other, topped with a forgiving and loving heart..these things strengthen and guide us. I thank God for a mother who "Makes and Keeps Me Her Business"; she's the Best Friend I've ever had.. Til You !
" We're Not So Different, the 3 of Us"
My Love Always, Mama
