Lost and Found

Lost and Found
I was lost inside my body,
dazed in a zone.
I couldn't find anything,
so I walked around alone.
I was looking for something special,
never to be found.
I used to be one of the lost souls,
just staring all around.
One day it finally hit me,
I suddenly woke up.
I realized what I was looking for
can be found in God's ever-pouring cup.
You don't need fame or fortune
all you have to do is be,
and know that what is special
can be simple, for you are free.
Look at what's around you,
a bird, an ocean, a tree.
We all take this for granted
but can you make one of these?
Know that your living body
is a miracle itself,
and thank all the soldiers
for their braveness and their stealth.
Acknowledge you've probably been given
all that you deserve,
and if you're reading this
thank a teacher for their nerve.
So next time you open your eyes
and take a big deep breath,
don't sneer at what you see
but take pleasure in your subtle wealth.
Smile at all those little things
you're surrounded by each day,
they're provided by your maker
who's asks for little pay.
If your life was written down,
you'd want it to be a good story.
So make sure this is included,
"I adore God's never-ending glory."
