lament to the memory

So its been a while since my heart has smiled,
the pain still lingers and yes it's been a while that someone understands or even cares,
There's no one there to help me express in tears the nights that i try not to fall asleep being afraid of the memories i see in my dreams.
I've tried to open up and let some feelings through but i can't go through that again and that's the truth.
In time i'll fill the emptiness; no strings attached affair without sentiments.
But life has a way of proving us wrong and its getting hard to carry on
So until life decides to part........
