Poetry: Concern/Thinking of You
Whims and Spiders
by Vinny

There's a spider web outside my window. Early in the morning, I drink my coffee and watch the spider sit and watch me drink my coffee with its many eyes. On her web I see the silk wraped carcasses of happless gnats and dried May flies, the relics of a nightly feast. I wonder if she looks at me and thinks she'd like to have me, all wraped in silk, like some poor beast wearing its finest coat to the slaughter house. I wonder if her love would be like yours, sweet poison driping from a well fanged mouth, and one last kiss. Or perhaps, like you, she lives in fear that all her well laid plans will go amiss. Some barbaric oaf might rip her little home apart after he drinks his morning coffee, on a whim...after all, just look at him.
