Poetry: Concern/Thinking of You
Remember me?
by Stephen Heller

Will you remember me when you've accomplished all your dreams?
While I sit here trying to gather 100 bucks for my next scheme
Will I just become another faded memory?
Will I get washed away so you can come clean?

Remember me? I was the strawberry in your cream?
But now you act as if I was never seen
I used to be in every single scene
But now I've been replaced to boost your self-esteem

Can we go back to how it used to be?
Just before all this fighting and misery?
Did I ever mention that you mean everything to me?
Remember me, everytime you bleed

Yes it's me, your angry teen
But it's ok to hug me
Just sixteen, another dream
Waiting for someone to love me

Think about the way I used to make you feel
Trying to find a way into your heart that's made of steel
Think about all those moments that were so real
Remember me, when you heal

Yes it's me, your angry teen
But it's ok to hug me
Just sixteen, another dream
Waiting for someone to love me
