Poetry: Kisses
Why They Call It a Crush
by Sarah Nicole

I look around the dark cold room
and nothing seems to be there
All I see is your glaring eyes
Though I try not to stare

You place your arms around my waist
As I struggle to control my breathing
Never had I thought life could get better....
Beyond this very evening

My heart beats faster as I look around
Then I turn and catch your eye
I'm over joyed with happiness
As if I'm going to cry

You lean in closer to my lips
As my chest begins to race
I think a million things in my head
Without a single trace

Everything stops for that very moment
And time just seems to fast
I stand here in your safe embrase
Praying for this to last

Never have I felt this way
All I can feel is a rush
Before this moment I had no understanding
Why they call it a crush
