Poetry: Kisses
Seeking Forgiveness
by MIchelle Silva

I took your life away,
Thinking it would free my own.
My tears are the understanding,
The knowledge I was never free.
There is no justice in what I did.
So I pray for your soul, wishing you were...
Where? Deep within my belly once again?
Would you have been healthy?
Would you have survived?
I question so much about life now.
But, never fear that I did not love you.
I will always love you, unborn child of mine.
And, behind every sad tear I shed,
Is the hope that one day you will come back.
So please forgive the selfishness,
The pain, and most of all the heartache.
I blow a kiss to fill your sails,
As you journet on to heaven
On the river of tears I have shed...
In Memory of You.
