Poetry: Kisses
Love & Hate
by Ashleigh

I love you,
no I hate you.
Constant confusion,
running over and over.
The part of me that loves you,
cries out inside,
wants you to love me,
yet has too much pride.
The part of me that hates you,
wants you to leave,
wants to turn and look away,
pretend to be naive,
but the part of me that loves you,
wants you to stay,
and to know that forever,
it will always be that way.
I hate you,
because I tried,
and all I did,
was cry,
but I love you,
because you were there.
When I needed you,
you seemed to care.
You were there,
to make me smile,
and I was happy,
for awhile.
I messed up,
that's for sure,
and for that,
this I endure.
I hate you because I love you,
and you don't love me.
Separated forever,
that's how it has to be.
