kiss at 13
by Evan
your eyelids shudder
lashes brush your cheeks
a lazy crooked curl of a smile
graces your visage
and nothing in this universe
can stop me now
i kiss you hard
mashing mouths bitten and sore
teeth and tongues in an
untimed and syncopated battle
we fall back laughing at the
rush and clamor of this first kiss
we hold tight to one another
making an unspoken vow to try again
but later because the excitement
and deluge of hormones
makes us lethargic
i breathe you in
and the your delicate boy-smells
of tree bark, nag champa, pot,
and something else i can't identify
tickle my olfactory bulb
and lull me into a dreamless sleep
