Poetry: Kisses
A Kiss
by Stasia

What is in a kiss?
So many things encompassed in one gesture:
A friendly hello,
the touching of souls,
a final good-bye,
or nothing at all.
When did it lose its mystery?
Did we lose it along with our innocence?
Oh to be pure again.
In those days how we longed to be wanted,
To feel the heat from his mouth touching yours.
When will I feel that same passion?
Will my whole body tingle from that soft touch?
Must we find our soul mate to truly be kissed?
To make the whole world disappear as his tongue caresses yours?
Is it ever like the movies?
Or does hollywood create an unrealistic picture in each little girls head?
If you have found your soul mate will you answer these questions for me.
Reassure me that a kiss doesn't have to be just a kiss,
And that weak knees are a real phenomenon.
