Poetry: New Love
Pamela’s Shadow
by Alan Gorman

I saw my shadow

I thought it looked bold

I stared at my shadow

And watched it grow old

Was it really my shadow

Or was this truly me

Could it be that my shadow

Would soon set me free

I gazed at my shadow

And then I saw two

There stood my shadow

And behind it stood you

I’ve gazed in your eyes

And I’ve felt your tongue

You released my shadow from bondage

And then it looked young

We’ve made passionate love

Beneath the warm sun

Two bodies lay there

Our shadows were one
