Poetry: New Love
tears falling the wrong way
by angel ca'preece lumpkins

I love you
I love you like
whispering wonderful words,
to a beautiful boy,
boasting that I adore him,
then walking away.
I love you like
permanetly grounde airborne birds,
fish that fail to swim,
and tears falling the wrong way.
I love you like freezing fire
and boiling ice,
like infinities that expire
and ghost living lives,
like memorization of the entire dictionary,
yet sitting across from you...
with nothing intellegent to say.
I love you like allowing you to cheat
so that I wont have to worry,
and tears falling the wrong way.
I love you like a nonexistent heaven,
and hopes of hell becomming reality,
I love you like the week holding six days,
not seven.
Like wanting death to smile at me,
I love you like,
you being forever stranded in my bed
and me still begging you to stay.
I love you like wanting to cry,
but laughing instead,
I love you like tears falling the wrong way.
I love you like guilty pleasures
smooth skin
and warnings for spontaneous kisses,
I love you like donated treasures
and unwanted wishes,
I love you like leaving longed for lost items
where you found them, where ever the lay,
I love you like
not knowing exactly how to explain my love,
I love you like tears falling
and when they're falling.....
they fall the wrong way.
