Poetry: New Love
The Master and The Lock
by Nona Pearson

The Master
He knocks
The Lock
She answers
The Master
does not hear.

The Master
He beckons her
The Lock
She answers softly
The Master
is startled by her voice.

The Master
He calls to her
The Lock
She quietly replies
The Master
Asks to cross her threshhold.

The Lock
She shys away
The Master
He knocks and a tear falls
The Lock
Feels a stream of wetness on her lips.

The Master
He whispers to her...You are the key.
The Lock
Instinctively opens the door
The Master
Enters her temple
The Lock and the Master
Weep, enfolded and in love.
