Poetry: New Love
Torn
by LivingOnaBeamOfLight

TORN

Although I held her hand gently,
I could feel her pulse tap out a samba against my palm.
Something about her at that moment
perhaps the weight of her eyelids as she grew weary,
the dew-like moisture settled on her lips that made their color deep,
that way her hair seemed to hover above her shoulder
that made me realize I was in love.

Title: Polish Summers
Author: eve

Never was grocery shopping such a challenge
during this summer in Poland
my hand in your hand
as we walked the aisles and you translated

Never was movie going such a challenge
seeing German films in Polish subtitles
but you translated all the while
in whispers in the back row

And never was boarding that plane such a challenge
because everything I learned
I knew somehow had been returned
though I may not visit Poland again
