Poetry: New Love
Spellbound
by Alisa Schoniwitz

You blew into my life,
Scent of your cologne, I'm mesmerized

Knocked on the door of my love
Kisses spilling over, cascading from above.

I look at you and my heart melts
Where have you been all my life?

I listen to you and am blown away
Who is this sweet, sensitive, compassionate man
Who brightens up all my days?

You are like a dream to me
Concerned with my feelings, my way, my heart

Unlike any other
Truly caring about my work, my life, every part!

You are the one I've always dreamed of
Someone sexy, sweet and smart.

Yet on the flip side
Know exactly how to light up the dark.

Captivated, I'm spellbound
Your love stops me in my tracks.

More than that, I'm enchanted
And never want to go back...

Go back to life before you
When my life was sketched in pencil

Everywhere I went
It would eventually drizzle...

All over my plans, my work, my days
Smearing and smudging, hard to navigate the way

Stay with me forever
You've become my destiny.
