My New Lover
by ConnieAnne Bayer
I have a neat new lover
he's as sweet as he can be
He's so soft and cuddly
And he's always there for me
When I tell him all my troubles
He listens quite as a mouse
I take comfort in knowing
My lover is in the house
He will never ever leave me
He will never make me cry
When I hold him close to me
My troubles seem to fly
When I am feeling lonely
I no longer have to yearn
I just hug my new lover
I know just whom to turn
Sometimes I hug him and laugh
Sometimes I weep like a willow
For you see this new lover of mine
Is none other than my pillow
