Poetry: New Love
The Right Words
by Sami

If I could only find the right words,
to say what I need to say.
Maybe my heart wouldn?t be broken like this,
Maybe my eyes wouldn?t cry this way.

I?ve never asked you for anything complicated.
So why is this so hard to understand?
If you would take the time to look through my eyes,
then maybe you would see how I feel and where I stand.

But that is a long shot in a far off world,
you?d never take the time to realize how much I love you.
I don?t think that you have any intentions of doing so either,
and I know that these feelings won?t go away anytime soon.

I know I drag you through this every time I see you.
That is probably the reason you give me excuses to leave.
I am sorry for going overboard and off the edge with this,
but knowing I am alone is something I don?t want to be.

You always make me feel like I can move mountains,
and part the waters in the seas.
You always make me want to see what tomorrow would create,
and never give if I still believed.

All of that just seems to unreal and subjective.
I don?t want to give up on this because it is too perfect to be real.
It seems as though I miss you now more so than ever.
but I also don?t want to let go of this, but if I don?t I won?t heal.

For now I will say I love you with all my heart.
How you take is really up to you.
You can be flattered and happy if you want,
or you can ignore me like you always do.

But I am here, with my heart ready to be yours.
Placed behind you in the silhouette of my mind.
Maybe someday you will search your soul,
and when you do, I won?t be hard to find.
