Poetry: New Love
Field of Stars
by Ben

You and me out in a field,
Observing the stars.
But this a dream,
Which can't hide the scars

Of remembered loves
And absent friends.
But I am a realist,
I won't pretend

That I'm not a dreamer,
A fool with a mind,
That works overtime,
Leaving real things behind.

I'm taken to a place
Where beauty is all around,
Where people are kind,
Where love does abound.

Of course, this cannot be true,
But I dream this is so,
Because I am a dreamer,
Like Henry David Thoreau

I will never stop dreaming,
As long as I live,
Because I love to dream.
My heart I shall give

To you
