Poetry: New Love
Sweet Nothings
by Daniela

When I first met you,
I thought you were the one.
I thought you were different from all the rest.
You used to say things to me,
That made me feel so good about myself.
Later I learned,
Those things you said were just sweet nothings.

I loved you and I actually thought you loved me too.
I abandoned all of my friends to be with you
Because I thought you were different.
You made me feel like...
No one has ever made me feel before.
It was all just sweet nothings.

Now still after you left me in heartache I love you.
I shouldn't because you haven't earned it,
But there will always be something about you,
Something that makes me feel...
Higher than anyone in the world,
But I will never love again because
I am afraid of those sweet nothing....
