Poetry: New Love
Heartbeat Of A Moment
by Cliff Lawrence

Heartbeat Of A Moment

Feeling as if I can reach across time and touch you,
Face to face my fingers running through your hair,
And slowly I trace the outline of your soft lips.

More than a feeling I feel here in the night of calm,
Seeing you so clearly as we are drawn closer together,
Dawn of ages finding our heats connecting our souls.

Good cheer and good will felt in the night air tonight,
Moon smiling down from heaven as we embrace the future,
Each knowing what the other is thinking from just a touch.

Siting here watching you play with your hair increases my desire,
Deep seeded yearning of long ago memories stirring inside my head,
Long lost feeling of needing you always in my life comes alive.

Across oceans so blue we traveled through time searching,
Long ago feelings felt when our eyes saw one another,
In the darkness under moons soft glow our hearts embraced.

Pounding of ocean waves against rocky shoreline in misty spray,
Reflection full of stars captured in glimmering silver shine,
Raw power caressing through veins in excitement's passion.

Night illuminating dreams doorway of stories long told,
Of love that escaped through times boundaries of desire,
Falling within the mist left behind from oceans spray.

More than a feeling felt when our eyes saw beyond time and space,
Spark of understanding shared in heartbeat of a moment,
As bond of friendship rekindled passion of life's beauty.
