Poetry: New Love
No Reply
by Candice Hayes

I thought that you cared about me
Everything seemed right
Neither of us wanted to leave eachother
On a night like that night

We were drawn to eachother by the silence
Held in eachother's arms
I thought our bond would protect us
From life's fateful harms

Soon the night began to draw to a close
We were forced to part
I thought the love we had obtained
Was contained inside the heart

But then after days and weeks
Months would fly by
I sent out my amorous emotions in a letter
The response: "No reply"
