Wife Has Cybersex Business
Q:
My wife will not stop her cybersex business. We've been married for five years. I'm planning on leaving her and our child. Am I right to do this? -- Isaac, 60
Dr. Susan:
I'm not clear on the details of your wife's business, but if it involves sex and the Internet, and she is doing this without your okay, then it does sound like a deal-breaker. It also doesn't sound like much of an environment in which to raise a child. I assume you've tried to talk it out? Seen a therapist? Let her know that this isn't how you intended to live when you married her? Talk to a lawyer about your rights. Don't walk out on your child even if your wife is impossible to talk to. This is a kid who needs a stable parent.
Dr. Pamela Chollet has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and Master degrees in educational psychology and fine arts. Her passion has been helping people face and get through those times when they feel trapped and unable to move forward.
