Over-the-Hill at 32?
Q:
I am over 30 and I feel like the dating market is shrinking for me. Lately I have met single mothers, but I would prefer dating somebody without kids. If I want to have a family, I would like to start form scratch. I am not really looking, but I feel like maybe my age has something to do with not finding "the one." Any advice? -- Tom, 32
Dr. Susan:
You're hardly over the hill yet at age 32. Of course it's true that the availability of single women without kids will continue to diminish as you get older. How about making finding a mate a priority? There are plenty of women in their late twenties and early thirties who haven't married yet, or who have married and divorced without having kids. If you are "not really looking," you may never find "the one."
Dr. Pamela Chollet has a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and Master degrees in educational psychology and fine arts. Her passion has been helping people face and get through those times when they feel trapped and unable to move forward.
