Q: I think the guy who works at the coffee shop I go to every morning is flirting with me. Hes way younger than me, but he asked me what I do to stay in such good shape. I told him I work out at the gym. He says he wishes he could work out with me. Today he asked me if I had been to the gym already. When I said yes, he said, Let me know when you want a workout partner. Im like 20 years older than him! Am I imagining that hes trying to hit on me? Im tempted to let him, but Im not sure how to let him know Im interested.- Sonja, 47

Dr. Susan: Could be he's just being friendly, as coffee shop employees often are. Or he may indeed be hitting on you, as that's what guys do whenever and wherever. Or he could actually be seeking someone to motivate him to work out, just on a friendly basis. If you're interested in going out with him, you can arrange your schedule so that you're free to work out when he's free too. Of course, your first step should be to say something like, "Seriously? What's a good time for you? My workout times have some flexibility." That will put the ball back in his court, to mix a sports metaphor.
