Not His Type
About ten years ago, I had placed a personals ad in the local paper. I was meeting quite a few great guys, and Josh, a firefighter, sounded great, too. He said he was an old-fashioned gentleman and wanted to meet a woman who would appreciate that. I like that sort of guy and accepted a date to meet him for weekend cocktails at a nice harbor side restaurant. I wore a very nice black and white pants suit and looked sharp, like the sort of classy lady he sought. Well, Josh spent the entire time talking bitterly about his ex-wife, who had left him for another man on their anniversary a few years back. He then went on to say that a woman should know how to dress when they go out, "Five inch heels, fishnet stockings, and a short skirt." This "real gentleman" seemed to be looking for a hooker. I looked at my watch and feigned horror at the late hour; I "had to" meet my sister for dinner soon. Luckily, I never heard from Josh again!
