Come Into My Parlor

I work with a lot of men, and they are always flirting and asking me out. I never pay attention to most of them, but Cliff, a goofy, greasy, high-waters guy who would not quit asking me for a date, finally won my heart. I couldn't be mean, so I told him, "Sure, one date." He gave me his phone number and told me to call him. So that Friday night I called, thinking it was no big deal. I asked him what he wanted to do, and he gave me his address, adding, "Why don't you come over here? I made you dinner." "OK," I replied. I thought this would save me the embarrassment of being seen in public with him. When I got to his house at 7 p.m. and knocked on the door, he invited me in. As I entered, there stood his whole family, ready for dinner--and he introduced me as his girlfriend. Moral of the story: Don't be nice!
