Disgusted and Embarrassed

I had just moved to Florida for a new job, and had been asked out by a guy in my department. Since I was new to the area, I was kind of excited about going out and exploring the city. He picked me up, and we went out to dinner at a very nice steak restaurant. I am always very picky about what I eat, so it took me quite a few minutes to decide on an entree. In the meantime, my date was getting frustrated. He ordered the big fillet--a 16-ounce portion of meat--plus mashed potatoes, fries, a salad with extra dressing, and a beer to top it off. I was disgusted but hungry, so I ordered the baby-back ribs with a salad. The conversation was going nowhere, and finally our food arrived. I had hoped this would spark up the conversation. I was totally wrong: He inhaled his meal in exactly 12 minutes, during which time I had barely touched my food. Then he had the nerve to ask me if I was done with my plate! He gave me no time to react, actually taking the plate from in front of me and scraping it completely clean. It did not take him long, of course, before he had to use the restroom. So he politely went, and I enjoyed my dinner alone.
